City of David City to Host Downtown Revitalization Workshop for Business Owners
David City, NE – The City of David City, in partnership with the Butler County Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Nebraska Development District (SENDD), and History Nebraska’s State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), will host an Interactive Application Workshop for eligible downtown business owners on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at David City Hall, located at 490 E Street, from 6:00 – 7:00 PM.
This workshop will provide business owners with information about the city’s Downtown Revitalization Program, including eligible activities, the application process, and available funding. Representatives from SENDD and SHPO will be on hand to answer questions and guide participants through application preparation. SHPO staff will also be available to conduct site visits with interested property owners to ensure proposed renovations meet historic preservation guidelines.
Eligible improvements may include window or door replacement, brick or siding replacement, tuckpointing, new signage or awnings, and addressing code-compliance issues. Depending on total project costs, property owners may be eligible to apply for up to $80,000 in funding (an increase from the $50,000 maximum originally identified in the program guidelines, which are available on the City’s website).
Downtown businesses interested in participating should contact Brittany at the Butler County Chamber of Commerce to register at director@davidcitychamber.com.
