David City City Council Meeting Video-Conference Instructions and Guidelines
Thank you for participating in the David City City Council meeting via Zoom Meeting. Below are instructions and guidelines. Since technology always seems to have its challenges, we ask for patience and understanding.
- Please familiarize yourself with Zoom prior to the meeting. You can test your microphone and speakers through Zoom at https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362283-Testing-computer-or-device-audio.
A Zoom Meeting membership is free but is not required. You will be given the meeting information to join the meeting through the Zoom website.
- You must obtain prior permission to participate in a meeting via Zoom. Once the City Clerk receives your email to participate, you will receive an email from the City Clerk to enroll in the meeting. Please follow the steps in that email. After you enroll, you will receive a confirmation email with the meeting login credentials.
Note: All presentations must be sent to the City Clerk prior to the meeting. Screensharing your computer on Zoom will not be offered. When it is your turn to present, the City Clerk will screen share the presentation and provide you with mouse control.
- Login a couple of minutes before the meeting to test your microphone and video but no later than 7:00 PM. We cannot anticipate the pace of the meetings and therefore, you must be ready to speak on your item(s) when the meeting begins.
If the City Clerk has not started the meeting, you will get a message on your Zoom screen to test your microphone and audio. Please take some time to test everything to ensure it is working properly.
You will be placed in a waiting room upon entrance. Just before the meeting starts, the City Clerk will admit Directors and all public participants into the meeting. Once your item(s) have been voted on by City Council, you may exit the meeting.
- The City Clerk will control your microphone and video during the meeting. The City Clerk will instruct you when it is your turn to speak and at that time, your microphone will be unmuted and your video access will be turned on. Please speak clearly into your computer’s microphone and state your name and address so it can be entered into the public record.
If applicable, the City Clerk will upload your presentation or document. SCREENSHARING WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. You will be given mouse control during your presentation.
5. If participating by phone, please provide the phone number you will be calling from so the City Clerk can assign a name and quickly locate you for comments.
6. In cases where there are disruptive or uninvited participants during the meeting, the Mayor or Council President can ask the City Clerk to remove those users. Removed participants will not be able to rejoin the meeting. This will also pertain to participants who upload inappropriate virtual backgrounds or use other means to disrupt the decorum of the City Council meeting.”
If you experience technical issues, please log out and log back in or hang up and call back. If that does not work, immediately email the Deputy City Clerk at deputyclerk@davidcityne.gov for further instructions.

Clicking the link will prompt you to download the Zoom app if you do not already have it. Download the app at least ten minutes before the meeting starts, since it may take a few minutes to do so.
1. Once the app is downloaded, there is not need to "Sign In." Simply click "Join a meeting" and enter the Meeting ID: 872 8825 7607. This will log you into the zoom call.

1. When you call, you will be prompted to enter the meeting id: 878 4547 9671. Enter the Meeting ID and press the # symbol. (This is the first time you press #)
2. You will be prompted to enter the participant ID # or Press #. This meeting does not require a Participant ID #'s, so just press #. (This is the second time you press #) This will log you into the call.
All new arrivals to the meeting will be automatically muted.
