The Butler County Health Care Center is a Rural Critical Access Hospital, located in David City, NE. The facility originally opened its doors in November of 1973. Since then, Butler County Health Care Center has undergone several renovations and additions. The hospital is equipped with a covered main entrance, private patient rooms, private birthing and delivery room, private admission booths, two emergency rooms, eight outpatient recovery rooms, wellness center, cardiopulmonary, laboratory, radiology and physical therapy departments. Butler County Health Care Center offers several health care services some of which include: digital mammography, 4-D ultrasound, orthopedic services and surgeries, general surgery, vascular services, urology services and diabetes management.Butler County Health Care Center has grown from a 37,142 square foot hospital to a 70,187 square feet hospital over the past 40 years. The Butler County Clinic, P.C., located at 336 South 9th Street, is staffed by five family practice physicians (Gerald W. Luckey, Mark V. Carlson, Matthew Summers, Robert Daro, Joshua Sypal) and one physician assistant (Leah Hayes, PA-C) and served by 30 medical specialists. St. Joseph’s Villa, Inc., is a 58-bed, full service, skilled nursing facility providing the following services: restorative nursing, beauty shop, social services, special care unit, alzheimer’s support group, nutritious dietary services, van for medical appointments and outings, laundry, housekeeping, maintenance, secure care system for wanderers, and special social events and activities.

David Place is an 86-bed skilled nursing facility with a philosophy of “Dignity in Life.” The home offers skilled nursing care and rehabilitation facilities and features an Eden Alternative Philosophy. It is licensed by the state of Nebraska and certified by Medicaid and Medicare.
