Water Conservation
The City of David City is responsible for managing David City’s water use to ensure water is available for the community’s needs. Due to extreme drought conditions in Butler County, the City is asking community members to follow the City’s voluntary water conservation plan that went into effect at 7 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2023.
Dry conditions have reduced the aquifer that supplies David City’s wellfield and Platte River flows are at their lowest since 1956. Voluntary water conservation is the first phase of the City’s Water Management Plan which emphasizes outdoor water conservation as the primary management tool. Property owners are encouraged to follow their designated watering days listed below.
Addresses ending in an even number 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 are allowed to water their lawns on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Addresses ending in an odd number 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 are allowed to water their lawns on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
